Renowned Ignatian spirituality scholar and spiritual director Joe Tetlow, SJ, addressed a capacity crowd of about 100 at Incarnate Word Parish in Chesterfield on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Sponsored by the Bridges Foundation, Fr. Tetlow offered two presentations on the Latin motto of the Society of Jesus, Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, meaning “For the Greater Glory of God.” The talks are presented in their entirety, along with questions and answers, in the YouTube video below:
About Fr. Joe:
Joseph Tetlow, S.J. is considered one of the world’s leading experts on Ignatian spirituality and a world-renowned spiritual director. He served in Rome for 8 years as Secretariat for Ignatian Spirituality on the Jesuit General’s staff. He had earlier been dean of Loyola University in New Orleans and President of the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley. He was associate editor of the Jesuit weekly magazine, America.
Fr. Tetlow currently resides and writes from the new St. Ignatius Hall Jesuit community in North St. Louis County. His books include Ignatius Loyola: Spiritual Exercises and Making Choices in Christ, a compendium of the foundational theology of Christian decision-making. His guide for making St. Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises, Choosing Christ in the World, has been translated into a number of languages.
